Elm. Carved and woodburned. Colored with colored waxes,("rub and buff").
These pieces were done from black birch.Black birch is a dull wood without any pronounced wood figures. But this wood is very stable, especially when green, allowing to turn very thin walls vessels. All pieces have preserved bark. Pieces were extensively carved following wood grain and textured. Coloring was done using colored waxes.
